The teaching methods used in the initial and further training schemes of the German Berufsgenossenschaften are tailored to adult needs, incite the active participation of the participants and make use of practical exercises on machinery, equipment and other objects relevant to occupational health and safety. These methods are supported by the use of modern media, such as interactive teaching programmes.

Participant-oriented seminars are aimed at employers, managers, employees’ representatives, OH&S experts, safety delegates, manufacturers, purchasers and various other professional groups such as crane drivers, welders, radiation protection delegates etc.

Subject-oriented seminars are aimed at a number of working areas, operations, procedures and equipment. They deal with the following aspects:
  • ergonomics
  • hazardous substances
  • machine guarding
  • workplace design
  • fire protection
  • biotechnology
  • electrical equipment
  • briefings.
