Training centres
Health and safety at the workplace cannot be achieved without ensuring the training, information and motivation of employees. This is why the German Berufsgenossenschaften, in the framework of their preventive activities, put particular emphasis on initial and further training. They consider initial and further training through safety instruction, motivation within the companies and information provided by experts as crucial elements.

The courses offered in the BG training centres aim at safety professionals, safety delegates, top executives and employers. Additional initial and further training measures are designed for members of works councils and specialist staff or they inform on specific technical subjects.

The objective of the BG initial and further training is to provide participants with close-to-the-ground knowledge which helps them to perform their OH&S tasks.

The initial and further training is held in one of the 35 BG training centres, in training centres maintained by other institutions or in suitable hotels. Using most modern methods, the participants receive practical training on OH&S matters tailored to their particular needs in halls and at workplaces which have been especially set up for their instruction. The participants include
  • top executives
  • safety professionals
  • safety delegates
  • members of the works council and skilled workers

The annual number of participants in the BGs initial and further training measures amounts to 360.000.
