The German Berufsgenossenschaften work together with numerous international institutions and organizations in other countries, since many tasks require international co-operation and consistent solutions. The BGs and the HVBG have been assigned special tasks regarding the implementation of EU legislation and the Social Security Agreements, e.g. the provision of medical care for insured persons staying or residing abroad.
