Scientific investigations and results are opening up new perspectives for safety and health at the workplace. Research is mainly directed at company practice so that the companies immediately benefit from the results. Considerable resources are employed by the German Berufsgenossenschaften to conduct research in all fields of occupational health and safety. 20 BG-owned research institutes, including the BG Institute for occupational safety (BGIA), the BG Institute for occupational medicine (BGFA) and the BG Institute work and health (BGAG), work for the sake of a safe and healthy working environment.
