Curative treatments and rehabilitation measures are not always successful enough to re-establish the unrestricted participation of the insured persons in working life. In such cases, a pension is paid by the Berufsgenossenschaften, if the earning capacity has been permanently reduced (MdE) by at least 20 percent as a result of an occupational accident, commuting accident or occupational disease.
