International Social Security Association (ISSA)
As part of its international prevention activities, the BGZ works with the
ISSA – an international organisation of institutions whose goal is to promote the social security system. The key areas of this collaboration lie in the work of the ISSA committees on
insurance against occupational accidents and disease and on prevention of occupational accidents and disease with its eleven international sections, which are of particular importance for accident insurance and safety and health at work all over the world.
International Labour Organization (ILO)
The BGZ’s international cooperation also includes collaboration in the field of occupational safety and health with the International Labour Organization, the
ILO, whose main task is to prepare international labour and welfare standards. In addition to the information on the
ILO’s main website, there is also a separate ILO website specifically for Germany. The HVBG's work with the ILO is based on a
cooperation agreement.
Bilateral consulting services
Another area of the BGZ's international cooperation in the OSH field is its work with OSH authorities and statutory accident insurance institutions in countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Russia and Ukraine. As well as providing consulting services in these countries, the BGZ hosts delegations and visiting experts which they send to Germany.
